The coffered ceiling with gilt decorations and the frieze with its little putti, fruit, vine stocks, flowers, and medallions depicting historical events at the time of Cardinal Alessandro de' Medici, then Pope Leo XI, date back to the 17^th century. The walls are hung with two tapestries from the Medici collection that depict the story of Tobit and his son Tobias.
