How to Query On-Line Databases

(from public access points within the Library)

You may access to a number of databases using the Senate's or the Library's subscription. If you are prompted to a request for user name and password, please ask an Information Desk officer to help you open the connection.

The Library Staff may also help you using the databases, advise you on how best to query them and how to refine your search, suggests resources that fit for your information needs.

You will find the following kinds of on-line resources:

· Dictionaries and encyclopaedias (reference material; general encyclopaedias; language, historical and other specialised dictionaries);

· Biography and chronology (reference publications);

· Italian and foreign bibliographic databases (including selections from the periodical press, at times with abstracts or whole texts of articles);

· Legal databases (regulatory acts and court decisions);

· Italian and foreign newspapers.
