Emerging professions: the Public Policy Analyst. Enrolments in the AVPP Masters are under way

27/Nov/2018

Enrolments are now open for the third edition of the Master's course in Analysis and Evaluation of Public Policies (AVPP) organised by the Senate of the Republic and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, with the collaboration of IRVAPP, ASVAPP and the Conference of Presidents of the Legislative Assemblies of the Regions and of the Autonomous Provinces. The aim of the Masters is the formation of a new professional figure - the public policy analyst - to meet the growing demand from Italian and European institutions.

Many EU countries have in fact set up technical facilities to investigate the effectiveness of the interventions adopted by public bodies in tackling community problems. Legislative assemblies also increasingly need to obtain data and information in order to understand whether, and to what extent, the laws passed have achieved the desired results and what the potential for improvement is. Such a delicate function requires the continuous assistance of highly specialised personnel who are able to carry out study and research activities using original thinking and great scientific expertise.

The Masters course has a duration of one year (February 2019 - February 2020) and is composed of 332 hours of teaching, including 65 hours online, and 250 hours of on-the-job training. There are 30 places available and it is possible to apply for scholarships. Enrolments will close on 9 January.
